Earlier versions of X5 and SQL  en

I am presently putting together a members only type website, at the moment it is only at the prototype stage, and am currently using an earlier version of X5 (v8).
Having never created a site that needed member log in and the use of a sql database I am concluding that this early version will not offer the capability to put this functionality on the site.

Am I correct with this? I accept that I really do need to upgrade so as to have the many improvements and features offered in the latest version The project is really only at the planning and prototype stage (this prototype will not be the one that will be eventually go live) and I am refreshing myself on the program after not having used it for some years. The database part of my project is something that I have not needed when building any previous sites.

Hello Bren,

With the release of Version 11 we do no longer give support to Version 8 like explained here:

https://helpcenter.websitex5.com/post/101940

In any case in Version 8 there is the option to create private sections without the need of a database. You will find the informations on how to use it in the manual you can download from the "Downloads" section here on answers.websitex5.com

In any case with the new version you will have more functionalities for the projects.

I would suggest you to download also the demo version of Version 11 so you will be able to test it to see the new functionalities added.

Many thanks!
