Put the SEARCH TERM ABOVE in a short URL generator!!! (Google short URL)

Found this after Body Tag? It's in the wrong place or shouldn't be there:

<!-- Place this tag in your head or just before your close body tag --> <script type="text/javascript" src="https://apis.google.com/js/plusone.js"></script>

Hi Ceeky Man,

I appreciate the help this time.Wink That was the Google + button. I did put it in the header area so that it would show up on every page.

If I put it where it says I should put it, it doesn't show up on the page.

Best Regards,

Vedat

My friend we are all here to help and all we ask is for you to READ and LEARN.......

I have nearly two decades experience in web design and HTML!!!

That code above is pointing to a JavaScript document. This is why it goes into the head or BEFORE the last body tag.

The button doesn't show up on the computer (Preview) only online!!

Place the above code into: General Settings/Expert either in the HEAD or where the code for website statistics goes. This last placement puts it exactly where it should be BEFORE THE LAST BODY TAG!!

Why are you not using the widget code provided by X5 in the program itself???

Hi Ceeky Man,

I understand. Wink  I don't have much experience with html codes at all. Bufore V8 I was using Front Page which was also doing its own thing.

I did place the button before publishing with V9. If I remember correctly before the V9 update X5 one was not doing the "buble" type. That's why I got it from the Google site. I can not use the Facebook Like and Twitter buttons, because they were in conflict with my ssl. When connectet to the site as https://www.gurtan.com it was giving a warning site was not secure. I have it in one of my previous posts.

This html 5 version of the button said you can place it anywhere. So I again placed it on the header section and arranged it to the right. Because it said anywhere I hope it should not cause the same problem?

Best Regards,

Vedat

Hi Ceeky Man,

Several reasons. It usually comes with just about any reliable hosting plan these days. People like having to shop at secure sites, it gives some kind of confidence, even just having an ssl logo.

The main reason I am using it, Paypal is not widely used among art shoppers. People who usually use Paypal shop to buy small items, perhaps shop on Ebay, probably to buy some electronics, more like everyday common use products, perhaps lesser priced products.

Because X5 only setup for Paypal as of right now I have to collect the customer's credit card information before they go to Paypal Checkout screen. Once I have the information I run it through my credit card provider, and then ship the piece.

On the other hand, this is my personal experince at the days I used Front Page, I had the Google Checkout buttons for the pieces, people used it a lot to purchase. I occasionaly get a customer who knows how to use Paypal, or who knows what it is. Wink

Talking with Steve, Google Checkout will be added as a payment method in the upcoming updates. Then I can think about not having a need for an ssl site.

I know you will say why the site does not go to https ssl site directly. Smile For seo reasons I am reluctant to redirect the whole site to https. You never know how Search engines will react to this. They say someting and they may do someting else. I would hate lose some of my rankings just doing that.

Usually secure sites run slower too, it takes more from a server. So serios buyers can enter the secure site by clicking the ssl logo at the home page and do their shopping. Just browsers can go through regular site and do their thinking.

Best Regards,

Vedat

Hi my friend..... Checkout your status with Google:

http://goo.gl/jWsgD

It is showing approx. 103 webpages and your SEO can be a lot better?? Your titles and descriptions have not got keyword density that is needed for SEO? (Google it)

Have you verified the site with Google Webmaster Tools?

Your details from the net:

Terms:

 326 (Unique: 131, Linked: 129)

Images:

 1 (Alt tags missing: 0)

Links:

 46   (Internal: 42, Outbound: 1)

You also need links to other sites...........

You can run the site as above unsecurely which is a lot better. SSL is only used for the payment gateway at the end. But as you say you are collecting credit card details you will need SSL.

I would suggest using the date feature inside of X5 it just tells visitors that your website is fresh and they will think it's being updated regularly.......

Nice site though, love the artwork!!

Frank

Hi Frank,

Thank you, I appreciate it.

I have the Google Webmasters and Google Analytics on the site.

You are right about the SEO part. Index page and some other top level pages I did the seo for some of the key words. They are Ok.

Last week I added the bottom three levels since upgrading to V9. I did that part so quickly using unique titles and descriptions etc. But I did not have a chance to do the SEO on them. Before it was harder to see which pieces were for indoors, which pieces were for outdoors, people were having hard time to tell.

That also gave me more pages for SEO, which is good. Next step I will be working on those pages. Giving links to outside is hard for any site, I think I will give the links to my Facebook and Twitter accounts.

I use the date feature, I marked the top level pages as daily updated, and the rest as weekly updated. It is a great feature.

Thanks to X5 making a site became so easy, but SEO turned into a sience. It is bothering me so much. I started to do the sites for Search Engines, not for people.

Last week when I upgraded the site to V9 Google dropped all the pages but 5 from indexing. That was scary. Now it is putting the pages back again, including the newly created ones. You never know how they will react.

Best Regards,

Vedat

Yes Google SE is a changing my friend......

We will all be surfing securely in a wee while. We are monitoring a site my expert SEO friends did in V9 and I've written an article on this on my Cyber Cafe. They have put the site on so we can watch too.....

If you contact me direct I'll show you how to put secret links in to major websites!!

I have hepled quite a few x5ers on getting first page ranking in Google but I'd hate to try now with this combination of HTML 5 and Googles new algorithms!!
