X-cart support question  en

Hello,

I am trying to build a site which will conduct E-commerce.  X5 seems like a solid choice, but I cannot find anything regarding ease, or if its even possible, to import existing spreadsheets (Word excel or Quatro pro) to your e-comm program x-cart.

The goal is to not have to rekey the hundreds, if not thousands of products we have already cataloged in quatro pro.

We are currently tinkering with version 9.

Sincerely,

~Bob

Hello Bob,

Here is a link to the official documentation from Incomedia which details import (and export) of products in WebSite X5 Professional version 11:

I hope it answers your queries for you, but if you have further questions don't hesitate to let us know!

Kind regards,

Paul

Hello Paul,

Thank you, that does help a lot.

One question on the import: if I have a product with different sizes and amounts, would I have to have the spreadsheet being imported reflect each size/amount as seperate entities?  Or is there a way to have "product; price1; price2; price3"?

Sincerely,

~Bob

Hello Bob,

The X5 ecommerce allows for options and variations on products such as size, etc.

Probably the best way to find out if the import fields can be mapped to your specific spreadsheet data in the way you wish is to download the Demo version of Professional 11:

http://www.websitex5.com/en/demo-professional---thanks-1.html

Some functionality is disabled in the Demo version, but I have just checked for you and can confirm that the 'Import products' feature is available to test.

Hopefully you will be able to quickly ascertain whether or not the software will import products exactly as your company requires.

Once again do not hesitate to return with further queries if necessary.

Best regards,

Paul
